Direvtor's Report on “Iee-Out.” at the Port Recreation Centre 1972: Mr. Griffith ropurted that the schedule for ice 4s as follows; Girls Hockoy March 23rd, 1972 Rerry St. Hockey Club April i3th, 1972. Lessons March 30th, 1972 Broom Ball April lth, 1972. Figure Skating Club April 9th, 1972 Old Timers Hockey League April 16th, 1972. . Because of this schedule de-icing should comacnee April lth and 10 daya are required to ceuplete de- icing and necessary repairs and paint before lacrosse, and roller shating commence, After some discussion Mr. Criffith was esked to check with 91d Timers Hockey, Broom Ball, ferry St., Yoekey Club with a view to sormencing the de~icing immediately after Easter holidays, April 9th. A report is to be prepared for the next Committee meeting. 2. Coquitlam Musical Testival: A letter fom the Coquitlam Musical Festival requesting the use of the Mabbett Room from Monday, March 20th to Thursday, March 23rd, 1972 at a nominal charge of $25.00 Mr. Griffith pointed out chat the festival use the schools, church halls and service halis and the use of the Mabbett Room would mean the cuncellation of some proprammea for this week but could be arranged, Tt was pointed out that although some of the contestants were from Port Coquitlam it vas patronized by a31 of School ‘District 943 along with other arcas being represented. 1¢ was suggesled that requests of this kind will increase because of the increasing facilities and sore policy should be set with regard to fee reduction and free rental of facilities, Moved by Mr. Borch: Seconded by Mr. Davies: : . That the Coquitlam Musical Festival be advised that the Mabbete Room may be rented to them at the regular charge of $75.00. Carried Mr. Griffith was asked to Prepare an outline of the groups that would be in line for use of facilities free of charge in order that some eriteria may be established. 3. Kinsmen Club of Port Coquitian: A letter was received by the City and referred to the Parks and Recreation Comittee regarding the leasing of City owned land for the purpose of erecting a club-house and community centre, It was felt that this type of request could mushroom since other clubs and indvstrial firus have in- dicated their interest to provide financial help for facilities providing their employees are given free use of “the facilities. After some discussion it was decided that a Kinemen representative should attend a Parks and Recreation Comittee mecting to dincuss their plans and secondly to invite e representative from the industrial erea to # separate meeting so thoy may present their plans, 4. Kinsmen Annual Sports Carnival: A request was received fron the Kinsmen Glub for the free use of all recreation facilities for the annual Sports Carnival on July lst, 1972.
