C., recentiy par~ ticipated in the heroic rescue of two citizens whose car sank while unloading from a B.C. Ferry in Nanaimo. The City of Nanaimo wishes to award Mr. Mantel a siiver merit award which is only given for acts of valour beyond the call of duty. Mr. Mantel was unable to be in Nanaimo for the official presentation ceremony on December 13th, and we would deem it an honour if you could present the silver merit award which is enclosed to Mr. Mantel either in the Council Chambers of the City or in the Mayor's office.
