Re: Brief on Privatization

The B.C. Government Employees' Union represents the people who
maintain and service provincial highways througout the province
of British Columbia. Many of these employees of the Ministry of
Highways live and work in your community.

As you are aware, the provincial government has announced its
plan to sell the maintenance of our highways to the private
sector. The BCGEU has prepared a brief on the subject of
highways privatization, which we would like to present to your
Council at the earliest opportunity.
