August 8th, 1977 the following changes in the present basic document: 1. A general increase of 5.87% to make parity with the wage scale effect for 1977 in Vancouver-—Metro Firefighter Contracts. 2. A cleaning allowance of $2.56 per month. 3. A lump sum payment of $17.78 for each man for the year to bring the total package up to a precise 6% A.I.B. Guideline maximum. Carried. M.Rd. j | and he advised that the monies have now been received from Nu-West Development Corporation Ltd. (in accord with the Land Use Contract under which its subdivision North of Prairie Avenue and West of Cedar Drive is being developed), to permit continuation thereof to Cedar Drive and thence to Freemont Street. Ald.Thompson re Alderman Thompson inquired. as to progress being made by the District impts.-West'r.CPR Crossing~—Kings-~ of Coquitlam on constructing improvements in the vicinity of the Westminster C.P.R. crossing-Kingsway Avenue intersection, and Alderman Mabbett stated his understanding that the contracts were let for this work several weeks ago; however, he requested tie Assistant City Engineer to ascertain from that municipality when the work would commence. Laking re Alderman Laking advised of complaints received about a weeping weeping willow tree problem-SE cor. willow tree on the South-east corrnar of Oxford Street and Prairie Avenue Oxford St. & Prairie Ave. restricting visibility of the intersection for motorists, and it was } agreed this problem would be investigated, Ald.Ranger re Alderman Ranger referred to his proposal made at the June 27th, ‘truck access problem, ete.-Mayfair 1977 Council meeting in connection with the development of Mayfair Park, ‘Industrial Pk.~ Cape Horn that the Highways Department close off the hazardous access at the North ‘Interchange side of the Cape Horn interchange, and noted in response thereto that a "Trucks Turning" sign has been posted and a that a letter has been received from the Department advising that the gate at the access will be locked and further use restricted to non-rush hour traffic periods during the daytime, with no left—turns permitted.
