GENERAL COMMENTS ON LOCAL CRIMINAL AND DRUG ACTIVITIES? During the month of January, fourteen persons were charged for various offences under the Narcotic Control Act. Most of these were for marihuana, however, there was one person charged for trafficking in heroin which resulted in the seizure of ten ounces of heroin and another subject, belicved responsible for a qood percentage of the heroin traffic in Port Coquitlam was found in possession of sixteen cepsules of heroin. The drug problem still continues to flourish, however, so far during the month of February we have teken steps to curtail this to some degree, and several persons have already been charged. During the month, we had one offence where a young girl was raped, and another in the Port Coquitlam area where a young girl was picked up and molested. She was fortunate in jumping from the vehicle, and investigation into these two instances is still being carried out. There was one attempted armed robbery at the Mini-Mart in Coquitlam, on the 21 JAN 74, however the proprietoress of the store thwarted the subject by throwing a hammer at him. Cher 7 gi tA.
