Season ta Taste

a serving of spring

Julia Maika's colourful ceramics ask what
will you serve? In her first solo exhibition, she
brings ta the table an array of serving dishes
inspired by the enjoyment of food.

Since prastuatbon from Emily Curr Institute of

Art and Design in 1996, Maika has developed
distinctive maiclica pottery, Season to Taste
is a selection of recent work including sa
woury Looking ca Hes, lavishly embellished
pasta bowls, richly decorated platters and
apicily garnished chili shakers. In spring fash-
Lon, deep greens, golds, Oran es and bles
burst from (he pots in anticipation of the
garden. Peppers, garlic, aubergines and toma-

boes dance across the surfaces in acalligraphic

swirl, accented by elegant borders,

Influenced by the tradition of alian ceramic,
Maika’s pottery is designed to celebrate the
taking and sharing of food. When not in use

iLenhances any display of household art.
Juha Maika's skill as a potter and painter
combine to create main course dishes of
excepuanal taste.
