skater as she prepared for an upcoming BC Winter
games quatifying competition in Prince George last
weekend. Two girls in each age group are expected
to qualify for Terrace’s team at the Northern BC
Winter Games in Prince Rupert this February.

Kermodei Beverages and Mulligan’s Just Kiddin’ are look-
ing for your participation in the 1998 Coach of the Year
contest.

So far we've had one raving recommendation for
Uplands elementary phenomenon Dighton Haynes and two
recommendations for Steve Scott and Steve Cullis over the
phone. But word of mouth won’t cut it, Nope, we need
your entry forms in writing — by fax, email, mail or in
person before the Nov. 27 deadline,

That's right, we’ve extended the deadline to give every-
one a fair shot at this year’s competition. Look for win-
ners right here in our Dec, 2 edition of the Standard.

But first you need to think about it. Your favourite coach
may have taught you how to ride a horse properly, or how
to be a good spert. They may have helped you learn what
it feels like to win your first race or that having fun and
doing your best can be just as important as beating that
team from Kitimat. Remember, whatever they did, they
deserve to be recognized for it. Just fill out the nomination
form in this week’s copy of the Standard and tum it in to.
