THEREFORE the Provincial Government be urged to enact legislation
compelling manufacturers to accept a certain percentage of recyclabie material
in the production of new products;

AND FURTHER THAT all Lower Mainland Municipalities be asked to
support this resolution;

AND THAT staff draft an appropriate resolution to this effect for submission
to the 1993 UBCM Convention."

Accordingly, we look forward to your support of Council’s resolution in this regard. We will

also be requesting the Provincial Government’s consideration of this resolution and staff are

preparing an appropriate resolution to this effect for submission to the 1993 UBCM
Convention.
