Request For Drainage Improvements » A letter was received in the Engineering Dept. frorn a resident at 2885 Rosewood Cres. requesting that the City clear up 4 drainage problem at this address. The reason for the request is because large puddles are collecting at various spots along Rosewood Cres., particularly in front of the above address. Existing Road Conditions This subdivision off of Birchland is approx. 30 years old, The roads and extruded curbs are in good condition, however, in some places where the curb meets the road the road has settled over the years creating an uneven surface along the curb edge. This is where the water collects forming large puddles that do not drain away. Other Road Improvements Along Rosewood A similar complaint of drainage problems was made by the homeowner at 2890 Rosewood Cres, The solution in this case is installation of a catch basin. Since it is across the street to the present situation, this catch basin will not help drain the water in front of 2885. Catchbasins at every low point on the road would be an expensive alternative. Solutions 1) By aseries of aphalt skin patches the road can be "smoothed out" and the water forced to drain into the existing CB’s. There are approx. four places where this will be effective. (See map for locations.) In conjunction with this solution, the lips of the existing CB’s would have to be shaved down to allow the water to flow once the skin patches are on. ITEM | PAGE
