provided that this Section applies only to buildings constructed, cremovated or altered pursuant to a building permit application made after the date of adoption of this Bylaw. A building permit shall not be issued for the construction, renovation or alteration of a building specified in Section 13.2 unless the applicant submits a design drawing showing the location where fire sprinklers will be installed and pays the fee prescribed in Schedule C to this Bylaw. All sprinklers shall be installed in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association and the Building Code standards for the installation of fire sprinklers. EQUIVALENTS The provisions of this Bylaw are not intended to limit the appropriate use of materials, equipment or methods of construction not specifically authorized herein. An owner desirous of providing an equivalent material, equipment or method of construction not specifically authorized by this Bylaw shall submit to the Building Inspector sufficient evidence to satisfy the Building Inspector that the proposed equivalent will provide the level of performance required by this Bylaw.
