Planning Conference,

. Lanson Lee has asked for permission to attend a Planning Forum which will
be held in Toronto on November 4th, 5th, and 6th, 1980. Lanson has. not attended a
‘conference of any sort. since 1977 when he attended a similar conference in the east.

This particular conference has mainly to do with property and housing however, it
does have two rather significant sessions, one. on the Wednesday and one on Thursday
‘that deal with downtown planning and revitalization. This is a very timely topic.
in-view of our current involvement.

. The cost of this seminar is $360.00 and this is slightly higher than

some of the ones we have sent employees to in the past however in view of the face:

that.Lanson has not. been in the regular habit of attending conferences and the topics
_ that are under discussion I felt that it might warrant consideration.

Sn Foe I would like to request that Council give consideration to this request
and permit the Planner to go and that his expenses be paid.
