Cause still unknown, electrical fixtures are being checked at the lab. $1,000 damages to a home when sparks from burning in the fire place ignited the shake roof. $3,500 damages to a home caused by a fire in a garbage container in the kitchen, possibly a lighted cigarette. $700 damage to a car caused by electric ignition malfunc~ tioning igniting gasolene. $500 damage to a small car caused from electric wiring. 6 Fire alarms ringing in schools, 3 to same school which seems to have the experts baffled. The alarm system checks out each time after a false alarm but there seems no way of checking the automatic dialer. The other 3 alarms set off by students and a waste paper basket on fire activating a heat riser. Both industrial calls were false alarms. One a truck exhaust set off a smoke detector and the other was a furnace smoking and blazing. $1 Inhalator calls, 30 home emergencies consisting of breathing problems,heart attacks, strokes, epileptic seizure, haemorrhaging due to illness, falls causing injuries. Attended 4 playground accidents, 7 motor vehicle accidents, man hit by a car, domestic quarrel, and a youngster fell from Shaughnessy underpass. 3 Industrial calls, man injured when a grinding broke, man treated at work for possible bleeding ulcer and a lady having problems breathing from Scotts Poultry.
