We hada good number of fans and cars inspite of the cool weather, The drivers have all worked hard to get their cars and the track ready for this first race meet, Sp We have a new driver Jim Davidson sponsored by Jim McEwans. Jim did very well for his first race. Congratulations. Herb Quast aleo had one of his better days of racing, with four first place wins. Congratulations. Lée Stuckey of Stettler Alta., recorded his first win as a professional rodeo cowboy when he won the saddle brone riding event at the Lloydminster (Sask.) Kinsmen Rodeo held over the weekend, His mark of 79 on Verne Franklin's outstanding brone Transport won him $333. Gary Logan of Sundre, Alta., topped the bareback riders at Lloydminster with a mark of 79 on Franklin's Indian Time -- * TORONTO - Amy Alcott, while a mark of 80 recorded by Dan Lowry of Rocky Moun- tain House, Alla., won the bull riding there. The timed event contestants had some sizzling times at the Kinsmen Rodeo at Vulean. Dave MacDonald of Langdon, Alta., won the calf roping witha time of 8.8 seconds while Lee Phillips of Carseland, Alta., had a time of 3.4 seconds to win the steer wrestling event. Clemente, one of baseball's greatest talents as a longtime outfielder with Pittsburgh Pirates, was killed Dec, 31, 1972, when a ‘ DC-7 plane he had chartered to carry relief supplies to earthquake victims in Nica- ragua crashed shortly after takeoff from his native Puerto Rico.
