That the request from the residents of the 1600 and 1700 Blocks Coquitlam Avenue to cover the drainage ditch be referred to the Public Works Committee for investigation and report. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Thompson advised the residents that even if a Local Improvement is approved there is a long waiting list and unless the residents were willing to pay 100% of the costs it could still be a number of years before the work is done. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: From the City Administrator, April 3rd, 1978 advising of the financing costs of the proposed Senior Citizens' Addition and the Senior Citizens' Centre Addition Building Committee, March 15th, 1978 recommending that the Architect be formally engaged and authorized to call tenders for the Senior Citizens' Addition Project. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That on the basis of the City Administrator's memorandum of April 3rd, 1978 the recommendation of the Senior Citizens' Centre Addition Building Committee of March 15th, 1978 that the engagement of Carlberg- Jackson Partners as Architects for the Senior Citizcus' Addition be approved; AND THAT the Architect be authorized to call tenders for the Senior Citizens’ Centre Addition Project. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution discussion was held on the floor plan of the proposed Senior Citizens' Centre Addition. From the Building and Protection Committee, March 17th, 1978 recomnending the acceptance of the Amendments to Fire By-law #902. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That as recommended by the Building and Protection Committee, March 17th, 1978 the proposed Amendments to Fire By-law #902 be accepted. Carried. Alderman Keryluk voted against the resolution.
