THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM REPORT NOV 28 1927 TO: Mayor and Council | " November 28th, 1977 FROM: Public Works Committee Report from the Public Works Committee Meeting held on Monday, November 28th, 1977 at 8:00 a.m. ; IN ATTENDANCE: Alderman E.W. Mabbett Alderman M.A. Thompson V.G. Borch, P, Eng. ITEM TI Re: Prairie ~ Flint Intersection Considerable concern has been expressed that ‘this intersection is hazardous to school children attending Viscount . Elementary School. The Committee feels that. the most beneficial improvement to the intersection would be the installation of pedestrian actuated traffic lights. A preliminary estimate of the cost of installing the lights is $4,000.00 but this estimate is not based on a complete design of the intersection. The Committee recommends that pedestrian actuated traffic lights for the Prairie - Flint intersection be designed and that a detailed cost estimate be submitted to Council for approval to proceed as soon as possible. In the meantime the Committee suggests that School District No. 43 might wish to consider the establishment of temporary patrols until the light is operational. . Respectfully submitted, V.G.
