"THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C 0 l \ MEMO SUN 13 1977 MAYOR AND CCUNCIL DATEs JUNE 9, 1977 PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE Proposed Restaurant on Mary Hill Road A proposal to build a large restaurant on a site on Mary Hiil Road adjacent to the Port Coquitlam Building Supplies Ltd. has been received by the Planning and Zoning Committee, (see sketch {) ' The Committee has no objection ta seeing a restaurant on that site. The Committee, however, has questions on the configuration of the site and the future of the adjoining road allowances. Back in July 1976, a proposal to develop a medical clinic on the same site was received. At that time, both the Planning and Zoning Committee and Public Works Committee had reviewed the proposal and arrived at the conclusion that there is no need for more roads to be constructed on the adjoining road allowances, and that the configuration of the site should be altered to include some of the road allowances. This was, however, not pursued any further because the proposal was later on dropped by the developer. The Committee, after discussion on this latest restaurant proposal, suggests a modified site as shown on sketch 2, reflecting the previous thinking of the Committee. It requires the inclusion of part of Elgin Road allowance and some property exchange. The modified site is acceptable to the developer. It has also been referred to the Public Works Committee for comments. No architectural design has been produced yet as it is not realistic to proceed with drawings until the site configuration can first be resolved. If Council approves the modified site, the Committee is prepared to recommend the project to Public Hearing subject to submission of suitable design. 7a LL/dv Planning Officer. Attach.
