NOW THEREFORE:

A high quality Long Term Care health service is
essential to the physical being of an advanced society
such as British Columbia's;

The range of information resources available in the
Province's Continuing Care facilities is unknown to
many of those who could benefit greatly from access to
it;

Cooperation among public, academic, business,
government and other types of health care facilities is
becoming more and more essential in meeting the needs
of the public with chronic health problems;

The Board of Directors of the Port Coquitlam Senior
Citizens’ Housing Society and their dedicated employees
have successfully operated the non-profit Hawthorne
Lodge facility for more than seventeen years, .

Greater appreciation of the services provided by
Hawthorne Lodge could lead to direct encouragement from

community sources for the continuing development of the
facility's resources and services,

I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of
The City of Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week
