Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director SUBJECT: Minor Hockey Jamboree Recommendation: That charges not be reduced from their regular rate for the Proposed jamboree, Background & Comments Minor Hockey is proposing a new tournament for January, 1987, for the Novice and Tyke ages. Presently the City has given a reduced rate to Minor Hockey for their December tournament and for the Bantam Tournament in the Spring of 1987. When they initially approached the Parks & Recreation Department to sponsor this jamboree they indicated that they would be working with Figure Skating and the Ringette Association to utilize their ice time rather than public skating time. Normally the Figure Skating Club and the Ringette Association woulda pay their regular rental rate; however, if we were to give a reduced rate to Minor Hockey, we would lose revenue. As Council is aware, we are presently i reviewing all rates, and Committee was of the opinion that no new tournaments would be approved until the new rates and regulations were in place. 1 nen ee eit aint K.’dJdnna Taylor, / Parks & Recreation Director.
