November 20th, 1978. ‘From the Public Works Committee, November 17th, 1978 recommending PWC, Nov. 17/78 re Pkg. on Aire that parking on the west side of Aire Crescent be allowed for the convenience Cres. of residents. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That as recommended by the Public Works Committee, November 17th, 1978 the "No Parking" signs unm the west side of Aire Crescent be removed. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Ranger spoke in favour of allowing parking on the west side of Aire Crescent and he stated that it is a hardship for residents when such parking is not allowed. From the Leisure Activities Committee, November 16th, 1978 recommending that Council approve in principle the expenditure of approximately Leisure Activities Comm., Nov. 16/78 $35,000.00 from the Parks Development Reserve for the installation of ‘re Lighting of Park (Geo. Pearkes lighting to a practice standard at either Mary Hill School or George or Mary Hill Jr.) i , Pearkes School, and that Council authorize the Committee to undertake negotiations with the School Board for the lighting and the use of one of the above mentioned school fields and to prepare an agreement for presentation to Council. Prior to passage of the foregoing reswlution Alderman Laking explained the work that would be involved and advised that in his opinion George Pearkes Junior Secondary School would be the preferable site.
