Rules for hunting apna

The time has come for those
wh who feel the call of the wild
to take to hills with their guns to
shoot things, ’ And for those of
you wishing to go . hunting,

- here's a re-cap of some season
limits, bag limits, licence costs
and so on in the Terrace area.

First off, Terrace is in Game
Management area 25, part of
Region VIII. — District 25
stretches wext about half way to
Prince Rupert, swings up above -
Kitimat and then down to the ..
southern end of Morice Lake:
continues east to just the other
side of the town of Houston and
thence north to the southern
reaches of the Klappan River ar
so. Stewart isn’t included.

There are two seasons’ for
everything in area 25, one for
animals below the s6th parallel,
th other for animals above the
line. 'The-sé parellel Is an
imaginary: line just north of
Steyart (hat culs off the top
- third ff the-area.

In the area north of the line
the Seasons are: ‘for bull moose .
from the 15 of August to the 15 of
November; for  antlerless
moose from Octrober 5 to Qc- *
tober 27; for mountain goat
from August | lo October 27; for’
grizzly bear from Seplember 1,
to October 27; for black bear
from September ! to November
15; for wolf from the | of Sep-
tember to March 1 and for’
plarmigan from ‘August 1 to.
November 15. ~ :

Now .south of the seth the
seasons are someewhat dif- .
ferent. Mule deer bucks run
from September’ | 15°. to:
Navember 15 with the antlerless
mule deer. open for eight days
only from October 19 to 27. Bull

and the cows are open for the
same, elght days as the doe
