Aen SNA DRAFT: FOR DISCUSSION PURPOSES ONLY APPENDIX I Draft Zoning Bylaw Amendments to Regulate Accessory Home Businesses Replace the existing definition of Accessory Home Occupation Use with the following: Means a business, occupation or profession carried on in a dwelling unit py a resident of that dwelling unit, which is accegsory to the residential use of the dwelling unit and doea not change the residential appearance or character of the building or lot in which it is located." Add the following definition of Tutorial Services: "Tutorial Services"' Means the provision of teaching services in a dwelling unit, by one instructor and where no more than 3 students are taught at one time." Add Section 512 to the Supplementary Regulations as follows: Accessory home businesses shall comply with the following regulations: (1) No more than three persons shall work on the dwelling unit in connection with any or all accessory home businesses in that dwelling, and at least two of the persons shall reside in the dwelling unit. Notwithstanding 512(1) above, tutorial services shall be restricted to one instructor per dwelling unit. An accessory home business is not permitted in a dwelling unit which contains an accessory boarding use or a child care use. An accessory home business shall not include: (a) any manufacturing, welding, or other industrial or light industrial uses3 . (b) any activity which produces traffic, noise, vibrations, smoke, duet, odour, litter or heat beyond that normally associated with a dwelling; * a fire hazard or source of electrical interference}; any exterior display or storage of materials or finished products; retail sale of commodities from the premises. iTEM | PAGE |
