Development Variance Permit (File No. 22/88)

RECOMMENDATION:

That City Council direct the Clerk's Office to notify
surrounding property owners of fhis application.

And that Council adopt a resolution at a subsequent meeting
issuing a Development Variance Permit to Lot 30 requirements of
the Zoning Bylaw 2240, Section 801, RS-1 Zoning District,
Subsection (7) Rear Yard requirements by 2.45 metres (& feet).

COMMENTS:

This application is similar to an earlier request by a
neighbourhood to extend a deck from their second floor into the
rear yards

Criteria fotlowed by the Planning Department in examining this
type of application is its potential imposition into
neighbours! private openspace and view into houses. The
nroposed deck is sited to one side of the house to take
advantage of a view between neighbouring homes. This wil! also
minimize its visual encroachment into a4 neighbour's private
open space.

In conclusion, this report is recommending approval of the
request.
