COUNC JUN 11 1973 TO: The Mayor and Council June 8th, 1973 MEMORANDUM FROM: K.J. Stinson, Planning Officer. Re: Proposed Procedure for Processing Strata Subdivision Applications As a result of the meeting with the Planning & Zoning Committee on Wednesday concerning a proposed strata title subdivision, the Committee has requested a procedure for processing strata subdivision applications and other informational details which would allow Council. the necessary data to make a decision. The suggested procedure is as follows while explanations for the various steps are contained in the latter part of this report. Strata Subdivision Applications L. Application to Planning Officer. Application to include plan of ‘proposed strata subdivision, proposed by-laws of the strata corporation, and a prospectus type brochure of information to be given to prospective purchasers. The application is to be accompanied by a $50.00 application fee. 2. Applications will then be forwarded to the Chief Building Inspector, Fire Chief, Health Unit if required, and the City Engineer for comments. 3. Information from Step 2 will be compiled by the Planning Officer and submitted to the Planning & Zoning Committee. 4. The Planning & Zoning Committee will forward recommendations to Council. 5. (a) Council gives tentative approval on stipulations agreed on. If tentative approval is given, the application is returned to staff to ensure implementation of the requirements. (b) Council rejects application. 6. The administration will inform the applicant as to the conditions of tentative approval, These will include $300.00 per dwelling for water works capival reserve fund; $50.00 per dwelling unic for parks land acquisition reserve fund; and $10.00 per strata lot created as per the subdivision by-law and Muni- cipal Act requirements, as well as any other conditions as set out by the Muni-~ cipal Council. 7. At such time as the applicant meets all the terms and conditions as set cut by Council as outlined in tentative approval, the application shall once again be forwarded to Council for final approval.
