Alderman Ranger referred to a call made by the Fire Department to extinguish a fire that demolished an old house, and to his query on whether a charge had been made therefore, the Fire Chief advised that the police were still endeavouring to determine whe was responsible for the incident. Alderman Mabbett commented on the date of the report being for June, 1976, and the Fire Chief advised it was incorrectly dated and should be July, 1976. Alderman Traboulay commented with respect to the two malfunctions of fire alarms caused by youths, that when such incidents occur, it is the general tendancy of society to ” presume youth is responsible. and he requested it be ascertained whether or not the guilty parties had been apprehended. Alderman Keryluk referred to Item 5 in the "Remarks" section of the report concerning the patrol of City parks and to his request, Mayor Campbell advised further information would be forthcoming on this subject. From the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to July/76 re- port-SPCA Animals, August 10th, 1976, being the July, 1976 Service Report of the Pound Operation. The report was received for information. From the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, August. 6th, 1976, being the Suly/76 re- port-RCMP July, 1976 Municipal Policing Report. Alderman Ranger advised that a new method of reporting makes it appear that there is a decrease in traffic cases; however, he had been informed that there is much concern about the traffic situation, particularly with respect to the increase in property damage, and as a result, more enforcement will be required.
