Some of the areas developed and improved on this "pay as you go' basis have been the Commercial and Townhouse development in the Salisbury— Coast Meridian Road avea; the new access to the Hyde Creek Centre from Prairie Avenue (presently under construction); Phase I of a 36" water trunk line evenutally leadiug to Mary Hill; and closure of cpen ditches on Prairie, Broadway and Kingsway. In 1976, with the continuation of this policy, we will be looking to Marathon to pay for the widening of the Shaughnessy Street underpass; to B.A.C.M. for the linking up of their proposed development on South Mary Eill with improved access on Mary Hill and Pitt River Roads. Alderman Ranger suggested a review of the Regulated Growth Policy for the City, not for growth for the sake of growth but rather as a necessary means to ease the tax burden to cover the cost of debt repayment and operational costs in connection with the new Recreation facilities and the new North-side Fire Hall, which is presently under construction. In conclusion Alderman Ranger thanked his wife and family for the sacrifices made during his past term of office and also expressed thanks to the Administrative Staff for the excellent job in carrying out Council's policy decisions.
