April 2ist, 1975 Traboulay stated he was not opposed to installing speed bumps but that he was opposed to the solution proposed by Alderman Ranger. Alderman Laking stated he was opposed to the proposal, and pointed out that once the City starts blocking roads, requests are going to come in for others to be blocked as well. Mayor Campbell stated he was absolutely opposed to the closing off of streets. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the feasibility of installing some modified type of speed bumps on Western Drive be referred to the Public Works Committee for study and report back to Council. CORRESPONDENCE & REPORTS FOR INFORMATION: Mar/75 RCMP From the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, April llth, 1975, being the Report March, 1975 Municipal Policing Report. Alderman Mabbett referred to the recent damaging of the Schinz property caused by vandals, and stated he could not recall any report from the police on this matter. The City Administrator advised the police are still investigating the case, and Mayor Campbell stated he would inquire into the matter. REPORTS: Finance Comm. From the Finance Committee, April 17th, 1975, referring to a request re matching grants for park & late last year that the Finance Committee investigate the feasibility of playground equip., etc. Matching a $600.00 grant received from the Mary Hill Community & Ratepayers Association on a dollar for dollar basis, with the monies to be used for adventure playground equipment at Routley Park, and advising that the Committee does not recommend attempting to limit expenditures in parks by way of matching grants ana that the donation should be spent according to the donor's wishes and some plan for properly equipping the park.
