That the City provide the assistance requested by the Mary Hill
Adventure Club with respect to monies required for entering the Fraser

River Raft Race being sponsored by the District of Maple Ridge, the

purchase of materials for construction of a raft, and transportation for @

the raft to Mission and back from Haney. Defeated.
Aldermen Thompson and Traboulay voted in favour of the resolution.

Prior to defeat of the resolution mentioned above the following
amendment was proposed:

That the foregoing resolution be amended by adding the following

paragraph at the end thereof:
“Provided that the total cost of assistance provided by the City
with respect to both a cash grant and transport be limited to $200.00."
Defeated.

Mayor Campbell, and Aldermen Keryluk, Laking, and Ranger voted
in favour of the resolution.

Upon a query being made the Clerk advised that since a grant to an
outside organization was involved a two-thirds majority of Council (five

affirmative votes) was required for passage of such a resolution.

CORRESPONDENCE & PETITIONS:

BPCAAA re From the Port Coquitlam Amateur Athletic Association, April 21st,
Merchants canvass -

All Sports 1975, advising of the forthcoming annual canvass of merchants in the

Week, etc.
City by that organization, and requesting that the week May 5th through
ith, 1975, be declared "All Sports Week" in the City of Port Coquitlam
and that permission be granted to post a banner at the Underpass proclaiming

the said event.

That as requested in a letter from the Port Coquitlam Amateur
Athletic Association, April 21st, 1975, the week of May 5th through
lith, 1975, be declared "All Sports Week" in the City of Port Coquitlan,
and that the Association be permitted to post a banner at the Shaughnessy
Street underpass proclaiming the said event. Carried.
RCSCC Grilse re From the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps "Grilse", April 22nd, 1975,
Annual Inspection,etc.

advising that the Annual Inspection of that group will be held on Wednesday,

May 28th, 1975 at 7:00 p-m., and making certain requests for assistance

with respect thereto.
