Her husband, Ron Richards, . explained, “It wasn’t until Deborah was born that we knew Cynthia’s parents had been white. There would have been ‘no problem about it, it was just the fact that we wanted. to know.”’ He continued saying, “You don’t know of any diseases or mental or physical disabilities and these are things you want to ‘come to grips with before you have children. “I think it should be the right | of the child to be able to say, ‘I want to know where I came . from’, or, ‘T don’t want to know’. ” Cynthia Richards said now that she had come to understand a bit more, she would like to pursue her mother’s side of the family and also try to discover where her father came from.
