Adele Perry was one of some 150 secondary students who braved inclement weather Saturday to
demand an end to the Socreds’ continued cutbacks in education funding. Students complained of
classes numbering as high as 40 while speakers from Vancouver's universities, high schools and
the school board vowed to continue the protest. Gary Onstad, a trustee with the Committee of
Progressive Electors, was cheered when he noted the Vancouver board has had “‘the courage to
say no more cuts and we’re not going to take any more.“ Another rally sponsored by the Students
Alliance for Vancouver's Education (SAVE) is slated this Saturday at Robson Square. Schools
