The Tahsis permit, given in December, 1969, was on condition that final construction plans of effluent be approved by the board. Ten months later the company still has not supplied the first plans. Still pending is a permit for the U.S.-owned Utah Construction and Mining Co., which has made application to dump 9.3 million gallons of waste daily into Rupert Inlet on Vancouver Island. , In this case, the public have demanded a hearing before the permit is granted.
