Subject: Reeve Park - Additional Funding

RECOMMENDATION:
That Bylaw 2642 be amended to increase the funding for Reeve Park conistruction to a total
of three million dollars.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:

Bylaw 2642 committed two million dollars towards the construction of Phase 1 of Reeve
Park. The Capital Improvement Plan for 1993 commits an additional one million dollars to
complete Phase i of Reeve Park. These additional funds will be reimbursed to the Tax Sale
Reserve once the sale of a portion of the park to School District #43 is completed.

The complexity of the project has changed significantly since we started work several years
ago. Most of these changes have resulted from the addition of a high school to the south
end of the property.

The impact on our construction progress has been that we have moved ahead a number of
projects that were originally envisioned for future phases.
