Draft Extended Service Establishment Bylaw
For Regional. Strategic Planning

RECOMMENDATION :

That the G.V.R.D.Board be informed that the City of Port Coquitlam
supports the Draft Bylaw 750, a Bylaw to establish a Regional Strategic
Planning Extended Service for the Greater Vancouver Regional District, as
submitted for comments to the City on May 27, 1993.

BACKGROUND & DISCUSSION:

The G.V.R.D. Board instructed that a Draft Bylaw 750 which will establish
a Regional Strategic Planning Extended Service for the G.V.R.D. be circulated
among Member Municipalities for comments.

On May 27, 1993 Mr. Gordon Campbell, Chairman of the G.V.R.D. Board,
forwarded the attached letter to the City, transcribing the request from the
G.V.R.D. Board and attaching some background material and a copy of the Draft
Bylaw 750.

The Planning Department has reviewed the Bylaw and finds it consistent
with the discussions that have taken place between the Member Municipalities
and the G.V.R.D. over the past couple of years; the Draft also reflect the
comments that the City has made on this subject.

The Planning Department recommends, therfore, that the City of Port
Coquitlam inform the G.V.R.P. Board that it can support the Draft Bylaw 750 as
submitted, with no further amendments.
