GALLERY REPORT This year so far has been excellent for the Gallery - television coverage on Ch. 4 and Ch. 13 of the Ceramic Erotica show, While Katherine McLean's ‘Stone the Crows’ recelved a good review on the CBC Friday pro- gram which deals with events on Granville Island. January and February have been slow sales months as expected. However things are really starting to pick up, and [im sure we'll have another active sprimg. Although business has been slow this period, the Gallery hasbeen the scene of much activity. A portion of the Gallery has been repainted, new carpeting installed ancl extra track lighting added - basically, the Gallery has undergone a much needed facelift. This project involved much planning and hard work, and I would like to thank all those who helped with this effort. We have had many positive comments from the public. you haven't been in for a while, please stop by and admure the changes. For those of you who live outelde the Vancouver area, try to sce the Gallery when you visil, a5 it's a preal way to see the varlety of work being produced. On Wednesday, March Sth, the Gallery will be open until 9:00 p.m. We are joining with other galleries on the Island to participate in Granville Island's “Carnival of Colour", This would be an excellent time to visit the Gallery as it is also the opening of Sam Kwan and Vincent Massey's “InFORMed Function”. Vincent Massey will be speaking that evening at the Carteright Gallery at § p.m. All are welcome. - Sandy Korman Gallery Manager THE SELECTION PROCESS The Potters Guild of B.C, has now instituted a Selections Committee to jury work to sell in fis shop. The jury is made up of three people who will meet every other month. They will be looking for work that has a strong personal style, strong personal direction, consistently good design and technical competence. The applicant should submit six pieces or clear slides if they are out-of-towners, a clear, typed biography and the retail pricing of their work. The slides should be a good indicater of the work: clear, with stated dimen- sions, the name and year of the work. People should follow the guidelines as stated, othenvise the work will not be considered. Continued ...
