Mikala Gordon, a 10-year-old Chorister, thinks the group is ready but nervous about the per- formance. “Tt’s not very often when somcone gets to sing for the Queen,’’ said Gordon. ‘We've done a lot of performances but I don’t think any like this.’ The group has fundraised with a bottle drive and selling cotton candy in the park at Riverboat Days. “It’s been a lot of work but I think it’s going to be worth it, ” Gordon said. They will be one of two groups performing for the Queen in the altermoon ceremony, said Terry 2 Anderson. ‘The only other group invited to . perform in the = afternoon ceremony are the Lake Babine Native Dancers. Two songs will be performed in the afternoon by the Choristers, said Anderson, Halley’s Song for Canada. Following this formal ceremony, 21 groups are schedul- ed to perform in an evening pub- lic festival at the new campus, The Kermodei Choristers will . perform in the public festival at 6:10 p.m. ~ Both of their performances will be televised nationally on CBC. The group will also be perform- ing August 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the Terrace Arena for Iona Campag- nolo’s visit to Terrace, - Band marches to UNBC : ‘THE NEW ALYANSH Harmonic Silver Band will have 15 minutes inthe spotlight at the UNBC > opening.
