There are six related programs "operating in various locations in the District that provide advanc- ed learning one-half day per. week: to students with special abilities, The Elementary Programs in Terrace enroll about 40 stu- dents, and grade four to seven classes are held at-Thornhill and Clarence Michiel Elementary schools. Honors Algebra 11 and 12 courses at Caledonia Senior Secondary School are offered to Caledonia students who show a special ability in mathematics, — Twelve students in the Hazel- ton area are included in the GATE program with a grade four to seven program, similar to the Terrace program, at South Hazelton Elementary School and a ‘Mentor Program” for outstanding grade eight to 12 students at Hazelton.
