On Friday, Aug. 15° the readers gathered at the Terrace public library to celebrate the Book- worm’s arrival down south, For each book local youngsters read, the Bookworm advanced one kilometer on the over 1300 trek to Van- couver. The Bookworm started the journey July 10 and_ arrived at Expo Aug. 14, A total of 1,586 books were read by an en- thusiastic group of about 70 young readers. There were approximately 200 participants in the pro- gram, but not all of the locals managed to read books. A large and enthusiastic group of Terrace childran read 1,586 books this summer to help Bookworm arrives | Court at Expo TERRACE —Local children attended a Grand Wind-Up Celebraton on Friday, Aug. 15 at 2 p.m. in the Terrace Public Library to mark the arrival of the bookworm at Expo. The members of the Summer Reading Club managed to send the bookworm to Vancouver by reading books and resided to share the event with others. The theme of the celebration was, of course, Expo 86 and there were free refreshments, Laurel & Hardy films, and a few games. All members were asked to bring their reading maps for the final countdown.
