iY “ gt thea viltgh Peed Recently, as former Chair of the Governance Focus Group I have been contacted by Health Ministry staff to submit names for this portion of the Community Health Council representation. The Simon Fraser Region will initially be represented by two CHCs, one from each School District. Each CHC will be made up of twelve representatives, one third community representatives, one third elected officials from municipal councils or school board and one third Minister of Health appointments. In 1996 the one third community representatives will be elected in the local government elections. Following the formation of the CHCs the Regional Health Board will be created, two thirds from the membership of the two CHCs and one third Minister of Health appointments. | £ realize that School District 43 represents a number of communities and four members out of twelve in a CHC is difficult to resolve, however I understand some discussions have taken place last fall on how this may be accomplished and there remains the option of asking the Minister of Health to use some of his appointments to ensure geographic equity. I would like to forward the names to the Ministry staff as soon aS possible. Please contact me, Councillor Art Wilkinson of Port Moody or Lori Woods if you have any questions. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
