The Impact of Growth on the Transportation Network in Port Coquitlam
Planning and Development Committee - January 18, 1994

I. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended:

1. That the Planning Department be instructed to re-activate projects placed on
hold pending submission of this report and continue to process development
applications in accordance with the criteria and policies in the Official
Community Plan.

2. That no growth cap be instituted at this time.

3. That the Planning and Engineering Departments be instructed to proceed
with the organization of a Public Workshop to discuss the medium and long
term growth strategy and transportation implications.

0. BACKGROUND:

At the Council meeting of December 13, 1993, the following resolution was
passed:

"That the Planning and Engineering Departments commence a study regarding
the current traffic and transportation situation within the City with a view to
insure the scheduled road improvements will be sufficient to accommodate the
additional requirements emanating from the growth of our City.”
