A performer who seems to be always centre stage these days, he has received nothing but accolades from the critics and he moves from one triumph to the next. In 1999 and 2000, this young singer- songwriter-composer won first the Granby Music Festival and then the Petite Vallée Festival, and went on to receive nominations in the 2004 ADISQ Festival in the categories of best vocal performer and best recording of the year. In 2005 he won the Rapsat Leliévre Prize, awarded by Québec and Belgium, in the category “singer-songwriter-composer” as well as the Jutra Prize for the best sound track for the film “Les Aimants”, co-written with Carl Bastien, who has worked with Dumas for a long time now. His album has maintained its ranking on the hit parade as one of the best selling Francophone recordings in Québec. Encouraged by all his successes, this new star on the Québec music scene has met enthusiastic audiences and all agree that he is very talented in the art of improvisation. Always in tune with the latest trends in Francophone music, the Festiva! dété francophone de Vancouver brings Dumas and his electronic and acoustic pop-rock to Vancouver for the very first time, with a show that promises to be innovative and enthusiastic. mabe 1] Pour tout connaitre sur la chanson et la musique de la francophonie canadienne www.animusique.ca
