A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam
was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port
Coquitlam, BC on Monday, September 12, 1994, at 7:30 p.m.

Mayor L.M. Traboulay, and Councillors M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, W.W. Stewart,
and M.A. Thompson were in attendance.

Also in attendance were City Administrator TM. Chong, City Clerk S. Rauh, City Engineer
LR. Zahynacz, Director of Community Planning C.F. Felip, Deputy Director of Parks &
Recreation L.J. Wheeler, and Director of Building Permits and Inspections J.D. Shardlow.

His Worship, Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Michael Farnworth, MLA, who presented the
City with a Recycling Grant of $66,364.66 to enable the completion of a Recyclable Materials

Transfer Station.

Bylaws No. 2928 and 2929 weere withdrawn from the Council Meeting Agenda.

That the minutes of the Public Hearing and Regular Council Meeting of August 22, 1994 be
taken as read and adopted.

-» Terry Fox’s brother, Mr. Fred Fox, who presented a Terry Fox Flag to the City. |

- Whereas, Terry Fox had a dream and pushed himself to the limit to raise awareness that a cure
” for cancer can be found; : ;

Whereas, through the Marathon of Hope in 1980, Terry raised $24.1 million for cancer research,
more than meeting his goal of one dollar from every Canadian; —

. Whereas, to date, Texry Fox Runs have raised over $100 million for new cancer research
programs, | ; | | — _

; Whereas, the Terry Fox Run, entering its 14th year, keeps Terry’s dream strong and alive;

Whereas, om Sunday, September 19th, 1994, Canadians and people in 37 countries will
