JUL 26 (993 July 20, 1993 3946 March Way Port Coquitlam, B.C. V3B 282 Susan Rauth City Clerk City Hall 2580 Shaughnessy Street Port Coquitlam, B.C. Dear Susan Rauth: RE: Development Variance Permit No. 29/93 For 1749 Myrtle Way We live beside 1749 Myrtle Way, and we are writing to oppose any development variance for that address and any other in our neighbourhood. We would like to voice our opposition at the July 26th council meeting, but we will be out of town on that day. We bought into this neighbourhood seven years ago because, among other things, we liked the character of the location. We believe that changes in development around here would take away from the qualities of the neighbourhood. There are beautiful trees here that we wish to keep. There are Fair-sized lots for our children to play on. Changes in development will necessarily mean more houses, more people, and more cars. We already have enough cars around here. There is a school one block away, and a pre-school less than a block away, and those businesses already attract enough cars. We can understand a need for housing, but with new areas opening up, such as at the corner of Coast Meridian and Lougheed, we don’t think there is a need to start squeezing us in like sardines. To re~state, we appreciate the beauty of our neighbourhood as it is, we are opposed to any variance in development. Sincerely, Moyra Thompson \TEM PAI Michel Gendron
