RON FREEMAN CITY CLERK Dear Mr. Freeman, With regard to our request for a license to use a shotgun on our property in conjunction with Fish and Wildlife permit B 10973. The action required to scare Canada Geese from our golf course is immediate. The numbers are now in the hundreds, nesting is imminent. At present the large population of these birds creates a difficult situation for golfers by interferance, noise and excretion on fairways and greens. Golfers are continuously required to clean greens, fairways and shoes. These geese are destructive to greens and fairways by their eating habits, also the high acid content of their excretion causes burning and marking of our greens. Immediate action must be taken if we are to continue as a Golf Course. We appreciate your co-operation. Sincerely, a ye ‘'d. N. Methven President CARNOUSTIE RECREATION & DEVELOPMENT LTO. Mera eG
