CS~1 (Service ‘iComm.) to A-1 _{ (Agricultural) v4 April 4th, 1977 Meved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Pert Coquitlam endorse the resolution adopted by the Castlegar City Council on March 8th, 1977, requesting the Minister of Municipal Affairs to conduct a critical analysis of the role of Regional Districts in the Province of British Columbia; AND THAT The Honourable Hugh A. Curtis, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, be so advised. ; Carried. Aldermen Mabhett and Thompson voted against the resolution. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Thompson stated he was opposed to a study being undertaken unless some specific action was to follow; however, it was generally agreed a study would be desirable as it has been eleven years since the Regional District concept was established. REPORTS: Fin.Comm.~Stmts. From the Finance Committee, March 23rd and March 30th, 1977, being Statements of Accounts payable in the total amounts of $55,267.29 and $125,599.76, respectively. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the reports of the Finance Committee, dated March 23rd and March 30th, 1977, recommending payment of Accounts totalling $55,267.29 and $125,599.76, respectively, be approved. Carried. From the City Administrator, March 31st, 1977, submitting a letter dated March 19th, 1977, from the owners of 1477 Lougheed Highway (located on the East. side of Coast Meridian Road), requesting Council's reconsideration of the zoning change from CS~1 (Service Commercial) to A-1 (Agricultural), and advising that the Planning & Zoning Committee does not recommend reconsideration of this zoning change as an appropriate amendment to the Official Regional Plan could be obtained if the owner comes in with a suitable plan of development therefore. Mr. Van der Veen, representing the owners of the property ~ Great Pac Contracting Ltd. - spoke in support of the letter requesting a reinstatement of the CS-1 zoning; however, Mayor Campbell advised that the zoning cannot be reversed as the Zoning Amendment By-law No. 1510 has now been Finally passed and adopted.
