Soft- ball Team) 1976, concerning the chlorination system for indoor pool at the Hyde Creek Centre, and advising that installation of an available demonstrator automatic chlorine metering device should cost less then $8,500.00. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the available demonstrator automatic chlorine metering device for the indoor pool at the Hyde Creek Centre, referred to by the City Administrator in his memorandum of December 29th, 1976, be installed at an estimated cost of $8,500.00, and that the funds therefore be taken from the 1976 dyde Creek Pool Budget. DELEGATIONS: From Mr. Fred Sabatine, November 8th, 1976, writing as Manager of the Port Coquitlam Softball Team and inquiring about the possibility of having a fence put up at the Aggie Park similar to those at other parks of the Inter City Softball League. Mr. Sabatine, in his letter, advised that the fence would be removed when soccer starts and put back again for softball, with the Team to look after any repairs due to vandalism. In his letter, Mr. Sabatine also pointed out that the playing field at Aggie Park requires some work as it is in poor condition. A letter of reply from the City's Recreation Director, December 20th, 1976, was also submitted, advising that putting in a fence at Aggie Park would not be feasible, mainly because of the costs being too prohibitive. Mr. Sabatine was present at the meeting in sup: ort of the request made in his letter, and advised that the fence was a requirement for the Inter City Softball League 'home' games. Mr. Sabatine also pointed out that he had obtained an estimated cost of $400.00 for material for a plywood fence as opposed to the $6,000.00 figure set forth in the letter from the Recreation Director; however, the City Engineer advised that the latter amount was based on a removable chain-link fence. In response to concerns expressed by various Aldermen regarding closing in of the open green space of Aggie Park, Mr. Sabatine explained that the fence would only be required for the approximate three and one-half month softball season and that it would act as a safety feature by preventing park strollers from intrudiing in the softball playing field area when a
