MEMO TO: Mayor & Aldermen October 2nd,.197 FROM: R. A. Freeman, City Clerk . 2 N OCT §& 1975 Re: B.C. Hydro Right-of-Way - West end Wilson Avenue - Existing Installation On the reverse side of this memorandum is a photostat of a Right-of-Way Plan showing two small portions of City property over which the R.C. Hydro & Power Authority has requested that we grant easements. As Council will see, this covers ‘the existing installation and is over an exceedingly small section of the City's property. ‘The compensation proposed to be paid by B.C. Hydro is the nominal $1.00. an indirect benefit will flow to the City if Council is prepared to grant this Right-of-Way as we have never been able to obtain title to the City's property on the North side of Wilson Avenue as the Land Registrar has always insisted that a survey was necessary to insure that the exact boundaries of the property were known. Since the City does not have a registered title to the property 1t cannot grant a Right-of-Way and B.C. Hydro has offered to undertake the necessary survey and do the legal work in order that the City's title may be registered and the Right-of-Way then granted. * If Council are desirous of granting this Right-of-Way might we suggest that: consideration be given to the following resolution: "That. a Right-of-Way in the standard form of document used by the British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority be granted by The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam to the said Authority over that area of City property shown outlined red on a Right-of-Way Plan over portions of District Lots 174 and 379, Group One, New Westminster District prepared by Colin H. Bracey, B.C.L.S., and sworn correct by him on June llth, 1975; 4 THAT the compensation payable by the Authority therefore be the nominal sum of $1.00; THAT all survey and legal costs for any purpose whatsoever in connection with the granting of the Right-of-Way or placing the City's title in a condition to grant the said Right~of-Way be paid the Authority; AND THAT the Meyor and City Clerk be authorized to execute the necessary agreements, plans, or other documents for the purpose aforesaid and affix the City's Corporate Seal theréb." / ft A Pot cnmnnn— City Clerk
