November 18th, 1974 as follows: 1. That in the opinion of the Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam John William Scott and Carole Susanna Scott, as owners of a former road allowance which comprised the other half of McKenzie Avenue for which complete closure is now sought, do not have valid reason for withholding their consent; and 2. That the usual rule requiring consent of the adjacent owner be waived for the reason aforesaid. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Mrs. Scott inquired if it would be possible for her to purchase the portion of road to be closed, and the City Clerk advised that the Council always invites bids or proposais when such parcels are offered for sale. Mr. A. Coult, owner of the adjacent property, was in attendance and stated he had applied to purchase the section of McKenzie Avenue to be closed a long time before the Scotts had indicated any interest in it. Prior to passage of the above-stated resolution, Alderman Traboulay stated he had previously voted against initial consideration of the By- law; however, in view of the fact that a single-family dwelling will be created on the property, he would vote in favour of it and Alderman Laking, who had similarly been opposed, stated he also intended to vote in favour of the resolution for the reason given by Alderman Traboulay. Moved by Alderman Ranger: pass.& adoption Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That By~law No. 1341 be reconsidered, finally passed and adopted. Carried. Alderman Laking voted against the resolution. Prior to passage of the above-stated resolution, Alderman Traboulay inquired concerning the pending applications of Mr. Karass Steak House and the Commercial Hotel, and the City Clerk advised that the By-law now under consideration has no effect on either of those applications.
