Hall of Famers, Stanley Cup winners, scoring champions — legendary figures from the Na-— tional Hockey League of the past will be here to take on the Terrace Timbermen Oldtimers in a game designed for thrills and laughs. And if you haven’t got your tickets, best get to the Arena early to ensure a seat. You’ll have the chance to see Montreal’s Maurice ‘the Rocket’ Richard, but not his young brother Henri ‘the Pocket Rocket’. Henri is injured and can’t make the trip. - Ex-New York Ranger Andy Bathgate has also cancelled out. He has a prior business commit- ment. Eddie ‘the Entertainer’ Shack apparently is now available and will be here tomorrow. Another former star of 18 NHL seasons is coming to play. Kitimat curling back After a couple of years com- Kitimat curlers can play in their own backyard next month. Kitimat lovers of the ice game were forced into playing at the Terrace Curling Club when their old rink was closed two seasons ago. Now, after several weeks of lobbying, they can enjoy their own bonspiel on April 15, 16 and 17 at the old hockey rink. It’s an open spiel with men’s ladies or mixed teams allowed to enter. The entry fee is $120 a team, and includes a dinner and - dance on the Saturday night. The hard-fought victory gave Ravens a trip to Vancouver for provin- cial finals, Lucky Dollar Bingo Palace 4616 Hwy. 16 West Booth downs Tsimpseans Skeena Tsimpsean boys gave Prince Rupert’s Booth Ravens a run for the money, but the top- five ranked Rupertites came back to beat Skeena in the junior ‘A’ boys Northwest zone high school basketball finals at Ter- race on the Feb. 27 weekend. Both teams scored opening victories over Kitimat junior. Rebels to eliminate them from the three-team, double- knockout series. Tsimpseans beat the Rebels 56-28 with Jackie Brown and Mike Parker scoring 11 and 10 respectively. Craig Letourneau had eight for the losers. Ravens had an equally easy time with Kitimat, winning 54-23. Jason Parnell had 13 and Rory Duncan 12 for Ravens. Skeena tossed a scare into the favored Ravens in their first meeting. Skeena won 33-29, meaning they only needed one more victory while Ravens need- ed a pair. Brown had 10 points while Ryan Leighton had 11 for Ravens. Ravens came back in game two with another thrilling display for the fans as they outscored Tsimpseans 33-26. Parnell popped in a dozen and Ginger Manhas had Skeena. The third game saw Ravens take an early lead and hold on for a 56-46 winner, and a berth in the 16-team finals at Westview starting March 10. Leighton got hot for Ravens and poured in 34 points. Manhas had 1! and Parker 10 for Skeena, _ Bantams tie Terrace Inland Kenworth ban- tams salvaged a tie out of two exhibition Minor Hockey rep team games at Burns Lake on Feb, 28. The 3-3 tie came in the first ‘game. Jason Krug, Clint Prest and Ryan Mathews scored our goals. Game two was a 7-6 win for the host team. Krug and Garth Muller scored two each for Ter- race.
