Strata Title Applications will now be assessed on a "per unit" basis so
that applications for larger buildioge such as apartments and industrial or
commercial projects will pay more than an applicant who wishes to strata title

a duplex.

Under the proposed fee structure, developers of larger and more complex
developments will be required to bear a greater share of the processing costs
then they are charged et present. However, applications that involve
single-family uses or small site areas will still have relatively low fees in
order to benefit individual residents, home owners or small builders who.
invest in small sites. Fees for those types of applications will not rise

substantially from their present levels.

The end result will be that Port Coquitlam will have one of the highest
Development Application Fees in the region, subsidizing only very swail
projects where the applicants likely to be a long time resident.

Cost recovery will now approximate 100% or about 2/3 of the total present
Planning Budget. |
