TS * Changes to private property (PoCo Shopping Centre) tars PRELIMINARY TECHNICAL EVALUATION Our initial impression is that there is a potential problem ' associated with capacity and permissible movements related to : _ Woodland Drive. There has been discussion about medium 2 t density residential development adjacent Woodland, and the steady growth of the Town Centre suggests that commercial parcels adjacent Westwood will also appear in the medium term. For that reason, we suspect that restricting left turzs (east _ to northbound) at the proposed intersection of Kitchener and Ci Woodland will encourage illegal left turns to Woodland, and - inte short cutting through the PoGo Shopping Centre. Cer It is possible that the intersection geometry for Westwood and | . \i Woodland/Crabbe needs “fine tuning" ‘to coordinate with od . Coquitlam design standards. In particular, we would want to : x review the need for a 1.5 meter raised medium for left turn protection on both north and south legs. Pedestrian movements should be considered owing the projected travel desire lines between the two shopping centres. A sidewalk warrant could exist on the east side of Westwood Street. wits Saba peers Aen! arse tens dieew eee 2 Ate re gti! ’ cee a pereae cera be a ante a Len RIN FT BE ; A transit access area for pedestrians should be located near ; oo che intersection.
