—— ree z THE. CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM COUNCIL MEMORANDUM JUN 9 - 1985 TO: Be Kirk June 5, 1986 City Administrator FROM: FE. Peters, P. Eng., City Engineer SUBJECT: Angle parking on Flint Street south. of Manning Avenue = Public Works Committee - June 3, 1986 Recommendation: That the west Sstde of Flint Street between Manning Avenue and Coquitiam Avenue be designated for angle parking only. Background and Comments: The portion of Flint Street recommended for angle parking is . adjacent to Aggie Park. The portion of Aggie Park south of Coquitiam Avenue already has angle Parking. The portion north of Coquitiam Avenue jis used both as angle and paralie!. There ts no curb or Pavement in this section. so that the angle parking would have to be designated by signs only. The boulevard area is narrow in this case and would normaily not be considered suitable for angle parking. However, the Committee feels that angle Parking ts justified In this case because of the shortage of Parking adjacent to the park and the fact that Flint Street is not a heavily used road. Because there is no curb on this portion of this street, there is the Possibility that angle parked cars Will encroach on the considered in a future budget. The portion south of Coquittiam Avenua was curbed for that very reason severa| years ago. : Kiley F — —— City Engineer : FEP/kIin Ww A)
